HUNTSVILLE SKATING CLUB- SUPPLIES MANAGEMENT PROTOCOL
Rationale: This protocol was developed in response to the covid-19 pandemic. Covid-19 has the ability to survive on contact surfaces. Huntsville Skating Club coaches and board will take necessary measures to reduce potential transmission of covid-19 to ensure safety of all members. HSC coaches and members will avoid using supplies that create touch points. HSC goal is to provide participants with safe, touch-free programming and to provide direction for disinfection of any potential items with contact risk.

It is of utmost importance that all members adhere to the principles of covid-19 transmission prevention:
1. Daily Health Screening to identify potential carriers and avoid community transmission
2. Regular hand hygiene
3. Universal masking of all facility patrons in common spaces
4. Physical Distancing of at least 2 meters
HSC list of potential programming contact items:
-iPod
-tablets
-Canskate name tags, badges and ribbons
-Canskate buckets: pylons, station flag, circuit cue cards, dauber, Ziploc of basic first aid materials
-Parent & Tot: windmill, marker, dice, stickers- labelled bag sent with family for designated parent/tot use only
-harness (not currently available)
Responsibilities:
-Town of Huntsville is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the Canada Summit Centre
-HSC is responsible for maintaining, cleaning and disinfecting HSC program supplies
-coaches will have designated labelled Canskate supplies for each coaches’ individual use
-each coach shall be responsible to set up/tear down their own station
-stations shall be designed to provide touch-free programming
-coaches and program assistants shall prevent participants from touching station items
-Canskate participant numbers are reduced to allow for more supervision by coaches and PA’s
-disinfectant is provided for coaches to disinfect contaminated/touched items following the session
-Canskate name tags will be distributed, collected and disinfected by entry/exit volunteer or coach
-Canskate supplies are to be stored dry and in clean sealable container(s)
Use of Disinfectants:
-visibly soiled surfaces must be cleaned before disinfecting
-all disinfectants must be used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
-appropriate personal protective equipment to be worn when handling contaminated items and as per disinfectant manufacturer’s recommendation i.e.. gloves. Contaminated gloves must be removed and hand hygiene performed following cleaning and disinfecting. Gloves must be immediately discarded into garbage container provide by facility

Music:
-a coach will be responsible to put the iPod in the music box and put away the iPod at the end of skating
-one person shall be designated to play music per session
-iPod must be disinfected between each session and/or user
