    Skate Canada Collection of Personal Information Statement (Appendix A)

    Your privacy and the protection of your personal information is important to us. Your personal information is required to register you with Skate Canada in any capacity, including, without limitation, as a Skate Canada registrant, coach or in connection with your affiliation with a skating club or skating school and to administer various services, such as Skate Canada events. Your personal information may also be exchanged with Skate Canada affiliates which includes your local skating club or skating school or provincial association or section. By submitting this form, you expressly provide your consent to the sharing of your personal information with Skate Canada and as described herein for purposes of registration and receipt of national services delivered by Skate Canada. We adopt the 10 Fair Information Principles into our privacy program, and employ reasonable measures to protect against unauthorized access, processing, disclosure, alteration, destruction or loss of your personal information.     CanSkate Program 2019 / 2020 Season

    CanSkate Pricing:
    $300.00 One Night per week FALL or WINTER
    $345.00 One Night per week both FALL and WINTER
    $375.00 Two Nights per week FALL or WINTER
    $495.00 Two Nights per week both FALL and WINTER

    CanSkate Starts Monday October 7th
    Please note: Skaters who are registered for only the fall session may extend into the winter session later for an additional fee of $100.00 for one night per week (Monday or Thursday) and $175.00 for both nights (Monday and Thursday).
    CanSkate Program prices include the annual $45.00 Skate Canada Fee and the annual $50.00 volunteer Fee. All skaters are eligible to receive a $50.00 refund if they (or a family member) complete two volunteer commitments during this season. Please inquire at our CanSkate table on lesson nights about volunteer opportunities.

    Please note that CanSkate does not run during Christmas Break or March Break, public holidays, or whenever the Canada Summit Centre is closed due to weather or other events. Please consult Huntsville Skating Club calendar for details / dates.

    NOTE: StarSkate Participants (or a family member ) are REQUIRED to volunteer with our Skating Competition (Skokie Skate) running October 25-26-27 either during the event or leading-up to the event. This is our primary fund-raiser that helps keep your registration fees lower. Volunteering with Skokie Skate will be credited towards your annual volunteer fee refund if you complete both commitments as outlined below.

    StarSkate Program prices include the annual $45.00 Skate Canada Fee and the annual $50.00 volunteer Fee.     Teen/Adult PowerSkating Program (age 13 and Older)

    Teen/Adult Learn to Skate and Beyond Program (13 and Older)

    Monday Evenings 815-9:00pm

    First night: November 4, 2019
    Last night: April 6, 2020

    Adult Skaters must wear a CSA approved Hockey Helmet until deemed able to complete all skills required to pass CanSkate Level 6. All beginners must wear a helmet until a Coach approves otherwise.

    Please Note: some Monday nights will not have Adult lessons due to Skate Testing for our StarSkate Program, Arena closure due to Public Holidays, or weather closures. Please check our calendar at huntsvilleskatingclub.ca to stay informed of program cancellations and announcements.

    Please Read the following Policies and Waivers carefully:
    WAIVER: The applicant (Skater listed above or legal Guardian if Skater is under 18) agrees to release the Huntsville Skating Club, its officers, directors, coaches, and members from any claims for damages arising from any accident, injury, or loss which is caused by or arising from participation in any program or event offered by the Huntsville Skating Club. Further the applicant agrees to abide by the Huntsville Skating Club code of conduct and rules and regulations of Skate Canada and the Huntsville Skating Club.

    HELMET POLICY: All skaters in the CanSkate Program and Teen / Adult Learn to Skate Program must wear a CSA certified Hockey Helmet while participating in Huntsville Skating Club on ice activities at all times until the skater has passed CanSkate Level 6. Face shield / cage is optional.

    All participants in the Youth PowerSkating Program and the Teen/Adult PowerSkating Program must wear a CSA certified Hockey Helmet including face shield / cage at all times on ice.

    Skaters - HSC Policies - Helmet Policy

    During special events, such as Santa Skate, where registered skaters, friends, and family are participating on ice the following will apply: All skaters must wear a CSA certified Hockey Helmet unless they have already passed CanSkate Level 6 and are also currently registered and insured with the Huntsville Skating Club. This means that PARENTS must also follow our helmet policy otherwise they will be unable to participate. Face shield / cage optional.


    CANSKATE RULES: Parents are Required to be Visible in the arena to care for child should they need to exit the ice. Certified CSA Hockey helmet is mandatory by Skate Canada. CanSkate uses dressing rooms 8 and 9. All CanSkaters are to enter and exit the ice through the door closest to dressing room 9. Skaters are not to enter the ice until instructed by a Coach or Program Assistant. No Parents / Spectators are permitted inside players benches, penalty boxes, time keepers box, or media box. Parents / Spectators are not permitted to open any ice door without consent from a Coach or Program Assistant.

    EMAIL POLICY: The Huntsville Skating Club uses email as the primary form of communication and distributing information to our members. The Huntsville Skating Club will use any email address provided in this application for this purpose. 

    PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY: The Huntsville Skating Club may use any photograph, video, or likeness of any participant in Huntsville Skating Club programs, events, or activities for promotional or fundraising purposes. All skaters or participants can choose to remain off camera provided that the Huntsville Skating Club is notified in writing (letter or email) stating the name(s) of all individuals who shall not appear on camera.

    VOLUNTEER POLICY: The Huntsville Skating Club is a not-for-profit organization and relies on volunteer support to help keep club costs down. Included in all YOUTH CanSkate and StarSkate program fees is a $50 volunteer surcharge that will be refunded upon completion of at least (2) volunteer commitments per child. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the season, please visit the volunteering page for info.

    This fee is NOT added to Optional CanSkate programs, Optional StarSkate Programs, Youth PowerSkating, Teen/Adult PowerSkating, and Teen/Adult Learn to Skate and those participating members are not required to volunteer and will NOT receive a $50.00 refund.


    Mandatory: Rowan's Law Concussion Risk and Awareness

    Payment Options:

    • Cash to be paid in person on the first night of skating
    • Cheque to be paid in person on the first night of skating (post dated options available)
    All receipts for payment will be provided at the Arena during Skating Sessions. Please inquire at the Registration / CanSkate table about obtaining receipts or making payments.

    NSF Cheques
    A $35 service charge will be applied to all NSF cheques. Cash, certified cheque, money order, or email money transfer will be the only methods of payment for individuals who have issued NSF cheques in the past.
    All CanSkate, StarSkate, PowerSkate, Youth PowerSkate, and Adult CanSkate Program fees include the $45.00 Skate Canada fee. The optional StarSkate Program does NOT include the $45.00 Skate Canada fee.
