Pre-CANSkate |
PreCanSkate is a 30 minute learn to skate program for 3-5 year olds. Skaters learn the basics of skating while having fun with different teaching aids and activities on the ice. Professional Coaches and Program Assistants work with each of the skaters on skills like falling down and getting up, skating forward and balance. Skaters can register for one or two days of skating a week.

CANSkate |
CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program for beginners of any age that teaches fundamental movements and basic skills. Skaters can register for one, two or three sessions. Skaters can skate in hockey or figure skates. CSA Approved hockey helmets are mandatory for all CanSkaters. The Canskate program starts at age 3 however if your child is under 3 but you feel they're ready to learn to skate, please feel free to talk to one of our board members or a coach.

Youth Hockey

Ages 12 and under
Hockey Skills is an action-packed, high energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes proper mechanical execution and also how the skills apply to game situations. Youth Hockey Skating Skills is taught in a group environment, therefore all participants should have basic skating abilities and should be able to manage the following skills: Be able to get up on their own; - Be able to skate forward the length of the ice using alternate strides. - Be able to skate backward the width for the ice using alternate strides; - Be able to stop without hitting the boards Full hockey gear recommended. STARSkate |
STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives.

STARSkate: Bronze |
STARSkate Bronze is our first level of the STARSkate program and offers opportunities to develop figure skating skills in four different areas. Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition – this is what STARSkate is all about!
Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system. Skaters who have mastered figure skating skills in STARSkate may also choose to pursue synchronized skating or pairs skating. To register in Bronze STARSkate your skater must have passed Canskate 6. Skaters can register for one, two, three or four sessions. Schedule:

STARSkate: Silver/ Gold |
STARSkate Silver and Gold are for skaters who have progressed through the Bronze STARSkate Program. Silver skaters must have passed 2 Star 3 tests (Star 3 skills mandatory) to register. Gold-Skaters must have passed 2 Star 5 tests (Skills mandatory)

STARSkate Enrichment

This STARSkate program focuses on a group lesson format for skaters who are registered in Bronze, Silver or Gold programs during the 2023-2024 season. Please talk to your coach about registering.

This program is geared towards teens and adults who are looking to learn the basics of skating and improve their skills. Skaters will work with Professional Coaches each session and learn skills such as skating forward and backward and crosscuts. CSA approved helmets required for any skaters who have not passed CANSkate 6.

This program is geared towards teens and adults who are looking to further their skating skills, spins, jumps and dance. These skaters are likely working towards Skate Canada Tests or to start their Test stream journey.
