Town of Huntsville COVID-19 Re-Opening Guidelines and Safety Plans for all Facilities and Amenities
Overview of Provincial Guidelines Summary
As of July 16, 2021, the Province announced we were moving into Step 3 on the Provincial Reopening Plan.
The continued health and well-being of residents, customers and staff remains our priority. Modified services will be provided along with ensuring public health precautions are in place. This is an initial communication outlining the staged plan for reopening. As additional details are worked out and restrictions are lifted or increased, further updates will be provided. Protocols will be developed and shared with user groups.
Measures that are in place include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Self-screening before entering the facility
• Patrons required to use hand sanitizer before using the facility
• Patrons asked to stay home if they are sick
• Pre-registration (online or phone) is required and will be used for contact tracing purposes
• Physical barriers (plexiglass), signage, and personal protective equipment
• Mandatory face coverings for all people entering the facility
• Restricting the maximum number of people in the facility at one time
Contact Tracing, COVID-19 Self-Assessment
Screening questions adhere to direction from the Ministry of Health and Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit’s Medical Officer of Health to help determine the likelihood of a person’s exposure to the COVID-19 virus. All patrons attending the facility must be actively screened.
The Canada Summit Centre doors will remain locked at this time. Signs will be posted outside the building to indicate where you are to line up.
Increased cleaning measures are in place, in accordance with Provincial regulations and industry
best practices throughout the building. Please do your part and help stop the spread.
Always: • wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
Practice physical distancing to reduce exposure to other people — this means staying at least 2 metres (6 feet) away from anyone outside your household or social circle (see the next section for more information on this).
Wear a face covering in all indoor public spaces such as businesses, organizations, or riding on public transit. Also wear a face covering when physical distancing is not possible.

The Customer Service desk is open to the public by appointment only at this time. Services can still be accessed by calling 705-789-6421 or emailing Customer Service at [email protected].
Customer Service Representatives are working on site and responding to customer inquiries and providing services through email, phone, website and social media.

The Canada Summit Centre Arena will be reopening to rentals beginning on the following dates:

Requirements for Organized Sports Leagues/Groups:
SCREENING AND RECORD KEEPING
• All patrons attending the facility must be actively screened before attendance. Patrons who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 should be refused entry to the premises.
• Staff/Volunteers/patrons must conduct a COVID-19 self-assessment before attending the facility and follow the direction provided. If they have COVID-19 symptoms, they should stay home, seek testing, and self-isolate.
• It is required that the Town of Huntsville and permit holders keep a contact log for ALL patrons attending the facility, including a first and last name, as well as a telephone number (or e-mail address). This log shall be in the custody of the facility/permit holder and not be accessible to the public
• Maintain log records for at least one month.
• Only disclose records to a medical officer of health or a public health inspector.
SAFETY PLAN
• Prior to permitting any participants in an organized sports league or event to practice or play the sport at the facility, the facility must ensure the league or event has prepared and submitted a safety plan to the facility.
• The safety plan shall describe the implementation of public health measures in the location, including but not limited to, screening, physical distancing, masks/face coverings, cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and objects, the wearing of personal protective equipment, and preventing and controlling crowding.
• A safety plan template and guidance documents will be provided by Town of Huntsville staff.

- - Prior to your arrival: the COVID-19 Self-Assessment needs to be filled out each day before Entry into the building. Click the link to submit form https://forms.huntsville.ca/COVID-19/Declaration-Form
- When you arrive: Town of Huntsville staff will confirm screening has been completed and passed. The screening program will keep an attendance log for 30 days in the event that contact tracing is required by Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.

- You will enter the facility through the main entrance of the Canada Summit Centre
- Contract tracing and screening upon entrance will is required and confirmation that you have completed your online COVID-19 declaration test
- Customers will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon entry
- Patrons will be required to wear mask while moving through the facility
- Please arrive as close to your rental as possible
- Access to arena dressing rooms will be permitted however social distancing will apply as well as changeroom capacity limits.
- Showers will be available with capacity limits

- Hand sanitization upon entry into the facility
- Face coverings or masks will be required up until play has begun
- Physical distancing and restrictions on the number of users on the ice
- Contact tracing protocols
- Patrons asked to stay home if they are sick
- Enhanced cleaning of the facility following public health requirements
- Spectators will be permitted into the facility within the designated areas
- Change room will be open to use with maximum capacities per room. The total number of members of the public permitted to be in a change room at one time must be limited to the number that can maintain a physical distance of at least 2 metres (6 feet) from every other person in the change room (i.e., one person per 4 square metres)
- Must meet Provincial and District Health standards
- User Group must provide a COVID-19 Safety Plan
- Return to play can occur as long as all those protocols are followed
